Medical Nutrition Therapy
What is medical nutrition therapy?
Medical nutrition therapy is a program tailored to each patient that allows them to receive an evaluation, a personalized diet plan, and continuous support to achieve weight loss goals.
Who is it for?
Medical nutrition therapy is designed for people who are overweight and those with certain health conditions that require nutritional support. It is also suitable for people who have undergone certain weight loss procedures, such as ESG (endoscopic sleeve gastroplasty) , or Overstitch, and need ongoing guidance and follow-up to keep the weight off and maintain a healthy lifestyle.
How does the program work?
The first step to medical nutrition therapy is a complete and thorough evaluation by our bariatric medical team and registered dietitian. Patients will receive a personalized diet plan and are also prescribed medications that help with appetite. Follow-up visits are recommended at two-week intervals for a minimum of 6 months.
How much weight will you lose?
As part of medical nutrition therapy, Innova Weight Loss Solutions’ physician and dietitian help patients set clear nutrition and weight loss goals. Many patients lose up to 1.5 pounds per week, depending on discipline and consistency with diet and medicine plans. Bi-weekly tracking and regular reviews of your eating and exercise habits help track progress, making adjustments to plans along the way if needed. The goal is to help patients make long-term, positive lifestyle changes to achieve effective, long-term weight loss.
